How to Apply
Your Journey Starts Here!
Leeds Teaching Hospitals prides itself on a fair and transparent recruitment process and as a result all staff members involved in the recruitment process, whether they are shortlisting or an interviewer, have completed Recruitment and Selection training to ensure our processes are free from bias and discrimination.
LTHT will ensure all adverts will have the shortlisting and interview date available. We will also ensure any applicant invited to interview for a role will receive the details and content of the interview with seven days' notice. This is to allow applicants the appropriate time to make plans for attending the interview (e.g. booking time off from a current role) and to prepare for the interview.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a Disability Confident employer, and we encourage anyone to apply for roles within our Trust regardless of their individual circumstances. We also want to do everything we can as an organisation to ensure that candidates with disabilities have equal opportunity and the same chances to be successful at interview as any other candidate.
Hints and Tips For Making an Application addremove
When you have found a role, you wish to apply for, you will need to complete your application to show off your skills and suitability for the role in the best possible way to give yourself the best chance of getting an interview.
Take your time – When completing the application take time in answering questions and review the information you have provided before submitting the application.
Provide examples - Have the Job Description and Person Specification for the role to hand and review what criteria are required from these documents. Provide detailed examples as close to the criteria as possible to show you have the required experience and skills for the role.
Complete all sections – Make sure all sections of the application have been fully completed before submitting any application, this will allow the recruiting manager to fully review and score your application accurately.
Use of AI addremove
Employers in all sectors are seeing an increase in the use of AI tools to help applicants complete a job application. There is a risk that it can generate misleading information and lack any depth of an applicant’s knowledge, skill and experience.
LTHT job applications are built on a value based process which will ask applicants to give specific examples as an answer to a scenario or question, this is to allow applicants to display their own knowledge and suitability for the role.
Skilled Worker Sponsorshipaddremove
Leeds Teaching Hospitals welcome applications from all job seekers. All applications will be considered based on the suitability for the role. If skilled worker sponsorship is required, the recruitment team will provide advice regarding this based on current UKVI rules.
